CONTRACEPTION: Gave birth, started Depo, which is the cause for my bleeding?

I've been searching the web and find conflicting information about the symptoms I am having. I do have an appointment with my doctor, however I work for the military overseas, so they cannot get me in until 21 Sept.

Here is what I am wondering about. I gave birth via c-section 6 weeks ago today. I was put on depo provera the day before I left the hospital. I had been on the shot previously and not encountered any major problems with it. I was told that post partum bleeding should stop within the next week or so, and to call if my bleeding was extremely heavy (soaking apad in under an hour), if my bleeding was bright red, or if I had clots larger than the size of a dime. Well, my bleeding has never really stopped. It is generally light... sometimes pink or red, sometimes brown, and some days I have no bleeding at all. I have also been very active since my c-section, walking/hiking etc. so I just assumed some days I was bleeding more because I was overdoing it. The last two days however, my bleeding has become heavier (not extrememly) and I have been very crampy (menstrual like cramps). I'm wondering 1.) If I should be concerned that I'm still bleeding 6 wks after giving birth even though I feel fine 2.) if it could be just starting the depo that is making me continue to bleed the way I am, 3.) Am I just having a period and that's why I'm so crampy suddenly? Thank you for any guidance!
