GYNECOLOGIC: endocervical curetting resultsFrom: momof4girls (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 28 Aug 2007 15:58:41 -0500 (CDT)
I received the the following results from an endocervical curetting after having an atypical glandular cell result from a pap. abundant blood and mucus, acute inflammation, reactive cervical squamous apithelial cells, strips and polypoid fragments of reactive endocervical glandular epithelium. Atypical cellls and atypical squamous metaplasia are identitfied; Dysplasia cannot be ruled out. immunostain for p16 is negative. What does this mean? Does it mean it could progress into precancer? Would treatment be adviseable. I do have an appointment scheduled with a ob/gyn dr. but have to wait a week so was wondering if someone could interpret this for me! Thanks!
