CONTRACEPTION: Clear, sticky vaginal discharge on OCPs?From: Lauren (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 23 Aug 2007 03:27:30 -0500 (CDT)
I started birth control pills (ortho tri-cyclen or TriNessa) last month. I just had my period last week, and at the beginning of this week, as I started back on the active pills, I had clear, sticky egg-white like vaginal discharge. I know that this kind of discharge usually accompanies ovulation. Could I be ovulating even though I'm on the birth control pills? I have been taking the pills exactly as directed and have not missed a day, however, last month I started my first pack on the first day of my period and had a period that was longer than nomral. This month, I had my period during the 7 days of inactive pills (I actually did not take any pills during these 7 days because I knew they were going to be inactive), and my period ended, as expected, a day or two before starting my second pack of pills. Was this ovulation a result of the fact that my body may still be getting used to the pills?
