PCOS: Link between PCOS and blood clots?

I was diagnosed w/ PCOS in May of 2007, and have also been diagnosed w/ lupus for years. Last week I was hospitalized for a week w/ a large blood clot in my right arm after a IV stick that also gave me cellutlitis. I was taking birth control pills in the earlier part of the year, but I am now off of them. The vascular MD said the lupus could've aggravated the clotting, but I was wondering if PCOS can also cause blood clots? I am very fearful to get another clot and am wondering if I should be on a blood thinner long term besides asprin. Thanks.
