Re: UROGYNECOLOGY: Vaginal incontinance/rejuvinationFrom: Amy Rosenman, M.D. (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 20 Aug 2007 20:04:03 -0500 (CDT)
Message posted on Amy Rosenman, M.D. behalf by: Hope, Women’s Health Forum Moderator Any competent urogynecologist can correct vaginal laxness which will improve both bladder function and sexual function if properly performed. There is in fact skill needed for this, you do not want to be "sewed up tight" as I have heard some regular gynecologists describe, what you want is appropriate reconstruction of the vaginal opening so that the muscles and underlying support structures are realligned, and so that any herniations (weak areas) are repaired. This is well planned for the same time that surgery is performed for urinary leakage. Best of luck.
