CHILDBIRTH: Closing a C-Section incision....

I was just wondering, out of curiosity, how is the incision into the uterus closed after a c-section? is it done with stitches that disolve? I was just wondering becasue my outer incision is completely healed (except for the marks from one of the staples) and I have a little soreness that feels like it is right under the incision, but inside, and like an itch I can't seem to scratch... could this just be the internal incision healing? I have never had a c-section, but have given birth vaginally twice, so I am not used to the process of healing after a c-section. Also, the longer we wait after the section to get pregnant again, the better my chances at a successful VBAC right? (I mean the lower the risk of uterine rupture, etc...)... Also, Pat, could you please email me so I can let you know what the autopsy report said, I can't find the email you had sent me last week... thanks!
