GYNECOLOGIC: Yeast Infection Test

Hello. I posted before about having chronic yeast infections. I am still having the infections frequently (at least once a month). I saw my doctor about this to test to see if it is indeed a yeast infection. I was having terrible back pain and was not able to lie down for a pelvic exam so she prescribed diflucan and it worked. But, I have continued to get these infections at least once per month.

I have two questions:

1) Is it worth asking my doctor about this again? If they are yeast infections, there's not really anything she can do besides the diflucan, right? And I can buy YI remedies over the counter rather than going to the doctor. The key is that I really want to stop this cycle - it's a real pain!

2) How accurate are those at-home YI tests (one is a pantiliner you wear for several hours and another is some other form of test that measures pH levels). Would that tell me for sure if I have a YI - since I didn't have the exam
