PREGNANCY: do i have pcos?

heres my story- 3 years ago i went to my dr when i kept feeling faint and tired. She insisted i was pregnant and did a blood test. It came back negative but she said i had hypoglycemia. A few days later i had a near panic attack and got all shakey and weak, i went to her again and she ordered a fasting glucose tolerance test. After that, i was diagnosed with PCOS. My OB put me on metformin. Since i was not trying to conceive, my pharmacist father in law suggested i not take it, because it was making me sick. Managing my diet has helped me almost eliminate the symptoms. A year ago i couldnt get into my OB when i had pelvic pain, i saw her PA and was given my first vaginal ultrasound, he told me i had no cysts. 4 months ago, i went to my OB to let her know i was ready to try and conceive. She put me back on glucophage, said i would not ovulate or have periods on my own and that i would not conceive without assistance of med's. Again, glucophage made me very ill, i only lasted 2 weeks on it. I have not gone back yet.. in the 4 months, i have had regular 28-32 day cycles and ovulated between day 12-18 each month. I am 25, 5'2 and 106 lbs, have never had acne, am obviously not overweight, do not have oily skin, always have regular to low blood pressure, only have 1 known family member with pcos (cousin) i am a little hairier than preferred, but a past OB told me that is just because i am hispanic. So my question is, is it possible that i really dont have PCOS, and maybe i just have a little more testosterone than normal, and when not eating right, my insulin gets out of whack? Should i go back on the glucophage?
