I had a D&C on June 8th 2007 as my baby had died at approximately 12 weeks. I have been bleeding or spotting since then. I had what I considered the beginning of a menstrual cycle on July 19th which ended about a week later (07/26). On July 29th I had a very heavy bleed for approximately 2 hours which has since lightened up. I went to my ob/gyn this morning (07/31). He did an ultrasound and said that he could see a large clot in my uterus but that my bleeding should stop within 4-5 days (i.e. 8 weeks after the D&C). He said that my uterus had been much larger than normal during the previous pregnancy which is why they couldn't be too aggresive with the D&C and why I have bled for so lone and expelled tissue throughtout. He also said that I was about to ovulate. My question is: what are the risks for a pregnancy beginning with a clot in the uterus if I were to conceive this cycle?
