This is one of my last resorts...to get every piece of advice I can for these problems I am having. To start...three years ago I woke up in the night with horrible pain in my side...I went to ER to find out that I had a bladder infection for so long that it spread to kidneys. The doc gave me antibiotics and I got better for about a month. Then, I started having the urgency to urinate and pain in my bladder. I had another bladder infection. I was put on antibiotics...again...and got another infection three weeks later. That cycle continued for many months until my doctor put me on a "maintenence dose" of Bactrim. I was on it every day for 9 months. The symptoms never entirely went away though...it seemed ok, but I could tell something was still not right. I stopped taking it and nothing changed. I went to see urologist and he told me there was no bacteria in my urine...but I had symptoms... Well, about a month after that, my symptoms started going away. Now, this was the first time I had started to feel normal in almost 2 1/2 years...and for 4-5 months, I felt great. I finally felt like I was urinating ALL of it when I went...the urge and frequency went away...no pain...everything felt fine, and I started thinking it was some phase. Well...three weeks ago, pain started in my lower bladder area. I went to urgent care and they said I had bacteria in my urine....he put me on 10 day dosage of Cipro.. my symptoms did not go away....the urge and frequency only got worse actually...with hardly anything coming out each time. I went to a new urologist who gave me Detrol LA which did not do anything either. He then gave me a limited catscan for stones last week and said it came back normal and my urine was normal. Yesterday, that pain in my side that I remembered from three years ago was there and painful...I went to the ER and they said I had a UTI...so here I am....wondering how it's possible that last week my urine was normal, but i was in pain...and today my urine has bacteria and my kidney's hurting....? I'm so tired of doctors not able to tell me what's wrong and why I'm living in constant pain....I have an appointment to see a gyno tomorrow...are there any gyno problems that could be causing these UTI's? Does the pain in my side mean I have a kidney infection again? It hurts to sit...sometimes to laugh...I constantly feel like I have to urinate and hardly anything comes out. I'm tired of living this way and need to start getting answers. The ER doc put me on Macrobid for the UTI....is there anyone out there that can help at all??
