UROGYNECOLOGY: HELP significant discomfort from cystocele???From: Alison Flowers (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 30 Jul 2007 00:25:25 -0500 (CDT)
I was diagnosed with a grade two cystocele and grade one rectocele after a fourth degree laceration from a forceps delivery with my second daughter. I have, since her birth, had problems with urine and fecal retention. Over the past month, my cystocele had begun to protrude out of my vagina. Since this has happened, I have had been VERY uncomfortable. I have had low back pain, cramping, and vaginal pressure. I have seen a urogynecologist, and he seems to be taking the situation lackadasically. I was wondering if almost debilatating discomfort is possible with a second degree cystocele and should this be handled as elective surgery. I have two small children and can only function normally if taking Vicodin or Darvocet. I have been waiting since the end of June to determine when or if I will have surgery. Is this the norm? I appreciate any information anyone can provide!
