HEALINGPOST-SURGERY: Healing after emergency surgery to remove ruptured cyst.From: S.Lund (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 29 Jul 2007 23:33:34 -0500 (CDT)
I had gone to the ER with abdominal pain and left the hospital 3 days later having had my right ovary and fallopian tube removed. The ovarian cyst was the size of a grapefruit and had ruptured. The incision is 6 inches long. I know the general requirements for healing. No lifting, moving fast... pretty much walk and lay down and don't strain or laugh or cough. What else can I do to help heal this incision as quickly and throughoughly as possible? Vitamins? Streches? Certain foods? What encourages healing of a large incision? Thank you.
