I am a 41 yr. old female with 2 grown children. I have had pelvic & back pain (right-side) for 2+ yrs. now. I have a large fybroid cyst on my Uterus, which is enlarged. I had a Laparoscopy without a ultrasound prior to, which revealed my condition. Endemetriosis was suspected, none found. I had adhesions on my right ovary, which were removed, however, my Gyne feels my only option is a hysterectomy.My ovaries are ok.I am concerned about a hysterectomy at my age, I just feel I am not ready. I want to get another opinion. I asked my medical doctor, he seems to agree with my gyne based on my diagnosis. Are there other treatment options, such as reducing the size of my uterus, removing the fybroid, to avoid the Hysterectomy. I am familiar with the ablation tecnique. I am not a candidate for birth control pills because of my age. Help?
