Re: INFERTILITY: Should ectopic pregnancy have been diagnosed earlier? From: Pat Sonnenstuhl (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 28 Jul 2007 13:19:45 -0500 (CDT)
Tubal pregnancies are sometimes very hard to detect, but they always need to be ruled out. Sometimes even the urine tests and blood tests come back negative, as the pregnancy isn't going through the normal processes. It sometimes does take awhile. I am curious if you had the methotrexate why you lost your tube and ovary ? WAs it too late, and did it burst ? I am sorry for your loss, and it is good to remind others of the issues. Sometimes the first 6-8 weeks it is very hard to diagnose a pregnancy, even a uterine one, and tubal pregnancies, and abdominal pregnancies are more difficult. It would have seemed to me that if you had an intrauterine insemination, the pregnancy would have grown in the uterus, so it is rather surprising for it to end up in the tube. At how many weeks were you when the tubal was finally recognized and managed ?
