I vote for every year. The pill pushes the transformation zone out onto the cervix, making it more vulnerable. This is because of the artificial hormone environment of the pill.

It is a known fact that 90% of women have evidence of hpv by the time they turn 30. We know hpv can stay dormant for years, then present itself.

Both these facts make me insist on yearly paps for my patients on the pill...Dr. von Almen
