GENERAL: Pap Tests and Taking the Pill

Hello,

I've had a number of negative pap smears (12 in a row) and do not participate in any "high-risk" behaviour. From every thing I've read, and heard, guidelines recommend a pap every two to three years after 3 negative results in a row (I'm over 30 and my immune system is fine). My doctor insists in a pap every year because I take the pill. The public health nurse I talked to said there was no reason to do a pap every year simply because someone is taking the pill, especially after so many negative test results, and recommended once every two years. I was wondering what your thoughts were on this.
