HYSTERECTOMY: Options?From: Robin (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 25 Jul 2007 20:23:21 -0500 (CDT)
Hello.... I have a history of Early Stage IV Endo, which was successfully excised by an Endometriosis Specialist in Atlanta. At the time of surgery (1998), it was suspected I also have Adenomyosis. I have taken many different OCPs and DepoProvera. I am currently on Yaz, which works very well. However, I have to break every three months because I start to spot and bleed. In just one day of stopping the Yaz, I am in excrutiating pain. It feels as if someone is inside of me wringing out my uterus as if it was a sopping wet rag. My surgeon doesn't want to do a Hyst unless there are not other options available as I am a high surgical risk. I had three abdominal surgeries for my pancreas, with the final surgery to remove my pancreas. I understand why he doesn't want to do surgery. Other than drugs like Lupron and DP, do you have any other suggestions for treating this? I will not do Lupron as I was on it for seven months prior to seeing the Endo Specialist. I developed Osteoporosis from the Lupron (even with being on addback therapy with the Lupron). Thank you in advance for any information and help you can provide.
-- Robin
