CHRONICPAIN: Tender area near laparoscopy incision 3 months later - what could cause this?From: CAmomx2 (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 23 Jul 2007 19:04:54 -0500 (CDT)
It's been nearly 3 months since my laparoscopy for an ovarian cyst, but I still have a terribly tender spot about a 1/2 inch or so from the small laparascopy incision that was made in the left side of my pelvis. The incision seems to be healing well and there is nothing visible in the area that hurts such as swelling or redness. It is extremely tender, however, to the point where I can't stand to have anything touching it including my clothing brushing up against it. If I push on that area it really hurts deep down and on the surface, almost like a really deep bruise. I'm not sure what it could be and it seems like everything should be healed inside by now. The only thing I can think of is perhaps scar tissue or maybe another cyst because I have spasms on the left side still? Would scar tissue cause this much pain and skin sensitivity. I'm kind of concerned because it seems like all should be well by 3 months. Thanks for any responses.
