Goldfarb: "Re: UNUSUALGROWTH: second post please help" I went to my gyn with complaints of pelvic pain, bloatedness and heavy bleeding every two weeks with eight days of bleeding each time. My dr. did an ultrasound and said I had a thick lining. I went home to take pills to make me start my period. I was confused since I had such heavy bleeding all the time how my lining could be thick? I did start bleeding again and went back in for a follow up. It was at this time they discovered a growth in my uterus. The dr. said it is growing in and out of my uterus. They immediatly scheduled a D&C, hysterscopy and a cone byopsy. A cone byopsy was due to my four previous pap smears showing abnormal cells and a previsous uterien byopsy that also flagged abnormal cells. During the D&C the dr. was able to get two samples of the weird growth. Pathology revealed it was nothing bad. Nothing cancerous or pre-cancerous. The dr. has no clue as to what the growth is or isn't. It looks like an IUD all though I have never had one in my life. I just don't know where to go from here? I am currently seeking a second and third opinion. I am concerned that we don't know what the growth is and is it causing my bleeding? The dr. said it could be possible that a part of my placenta was left in from my previos birth 15 months ago and my body is trying to heal itself by building up calcium around it??? I have two children. With both births I nearly hemoraged to death. The growth was not there during my pregnancies as I had numerous ultrasounds. Any advice?? I am concerned and woried. but not sure where I can turn for answers?? Since the D&C I have had bleeding for two weeks. The bleeding stopped for three days and has begun all over again extremly heavy. My dr. says it is normal to bleed for four weeks post D&C? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
