Re: ECTOPIC: the pregnancy AFTER an ectopic oneFrom: Pat Sonnenstuhl (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 15 Jul 2007 09:54:25 -0500 (CDT)
You want to do the ultrasound and lab work early enough to pick up a problem and actually confirm a viable pregnancy in the uterus. Somewhere around 6 weeks from the LMP. A lot depends upon how quickly you can make contact for care, and what kinds of symptoms you are having. An ultrasound before 6 weeks might not provide you with enough information. But, if you are having symptoms of an ectopic, that would be a different story.
