GENERAL: burning urination - non-bacterial - non-viral - UTI or something elseFrom: jo (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 15 Jul 2007 05:18:18 -0500 (CDT)
I am 57 year old woman - so unrelated to childbirth or brith control - same partner for last five years..... I have had burning urination for last 5 or 6 days. I called my ob/gyn and over the phone he prescribes nitrofuran. I had an adverse reaction to first dose and went to ER (chills/103 fever/vomiting/slight trouble breathing) At ER the tested blood and urine. Found no bacterial infection & no viral infection. They prescribed levaquin in case it was a UTI (something must ne causing the burning) After three doses - only soem relief - if I drink alot of water and urinate alot, the burning goes away somewhat, but once i stop drinking (so i can sleep, the pain returns next day urinations). Now vagina is becoming inflamed and sensitive when i wipe. anyone have any ideas....... thanx J
