CONTRACEPTION: Birth control pills and leg symptoms (second post)From: Gisela (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 11 Jul 2007 14:15:08 -0500 (CDT)
I am 39 years old and I have been on Ortho Triciclen Lo for 4 months to control ovarian cysts, and I have been experiencing legs and feet pain for over 3 weeks now. Last week I called my OBGYN office because the pain was very strong, and they told me to discontinue the pills and go to the ER to rule out a blood clot; they performed a Doppler Test and came back negative for clot or DVT. I stopped the pills a week ago and I continue to have the pain and a feeling of little spasms on both legs, mostly on my left leg, calfs and big toe, and a constant tingling on the feet. If it is not a clot, what else could it be? If this is still from the hormones, how long does it usually take the body to be free of this hormones? I am also concerned that my next appointment is in two weeks and I don't really know if this could be an emergency. Thanks for any response.
