CHRONICPAIN: IUD and severe LLQ pain - Advice Please!From: Amanda (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 7 Jul 2007 18:37:42 -0500 (CDT)
I am 12 weeks PP and had an IUD put in about two weeks ago. At first when I first had it put in I had moderate pain in my lower pelvis for about two days. Then within the past week I've started having pretty severe pain in my lower left abdomen and it keeps getting worse, particularly within the past 24 hours. I am having normal stools, and have not yet started having a period again. It does get a little more severe when I urinate, but it does not burn at all, and the pain is constant and very sharp. I do not think it's a UTI because I do not have to urinate often, it doesn't burn, does not feel tender or heavy, and it doesn't smell. Any thoughts as to what this may be?
