GYNECOLOGIC: vulva irritationFrom: Mel (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 2 Jul 2007 21:57:17 -0500 (CDT)
I was recently treated with Flagyl (2 rounds) to combat BV. I was also given a 7 day treatment of Macrobid (between the Flagyl prescriptions) for an apparent UTI. My use of Flagyl gave me severe burning sensation in the vulva area (both times) which I thought was probably yeast. The yeast treatment may have helped some, but not very much. I'm really at a loss as to what to do to get rid of this Flagyl aftereffect. How likely is it that round 2 of Flagyl gave another UTI?? My symptoms are burning and redness of urethra. Sometimes there seems to be some hint of bleeding (not vaginal). I hope a physician answers but I understand if not. Thanks!
