Re: ULTRASOUND: Can I have my long awaited GYN ultrasound while menstruating? From: Pat Sonnenstuhl (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 24 Jun 2007 15:43:27 -0500 (CDT)
I would go ahead and do it, if you can tolerate the cramps. They cover the ultrasound probe with a sleeve, so it depends upon how you feel about it. If it just an abdominal ultrasound, no biggie. What if you were pregnant, and bleeding ?? They'd do an ultrasound then also. I have assumed you have tried medications like MOtrin for the cramps. Good luck, and let us know what's up.
