Have you been evaluated for PCOS ? Seems like that would be the first order of business....screening, both with bloodwork, and with an ultrasounds. Your symptoms are classis....skipping periods and then having a heavy flooding one.

Continue to track your cycles very carefully, plotting them on a chart to show your GYN provider. This has nothing to do with your pap smears. It has to do with your hormones and hormone levels. You most likely are only ovulating the months you have a period.

PCOS is associated with weight gain, insulin resistance, diabetes, and eventual inability to get pregnant. So, it is important to get a correct diagnosis and appropriate treatment.
