ONCOLOGY: zoladexFrom: Ann (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 16 Jun 2007 14:28:29 -0500 (CDT)
Hi, I had estrogen pos. early stage breast cancer, so I have been getting Zoladex injections for about 6 months now--first once a month, then every three months, in order to eliminate estrogin. Two months ago my doctor told me that I was finally postmenopausal and started me on Arimidex, as well. Now, suddenly, I am menstrating again (at least this is what my doctor thinks, since my hormone levels have gone back up). Now, he wants to get me off of Zoladex, and has recommended that I have my ovaries removed. Doesn't this seem drastic, for isn't there a chance the zoladex could still work? Please advice. I am afraid to have me ovaries removed.
