Re: GENERAL: Endometrial ablation - How soon after do you usually get a period?

Michelle,
That is because no one knows for sure. You may not ever get one. The
purpose of an Ablation is to inhibit growth of the endometrial lining
through cautery. No endometrial growth no period!
You may return to light periods. About 1/4 of ablations fail and heavy
bleeding returns.
The cramping you are talking about could be ovulation or your body's way
of shedding what ever is left in the uterus secondary to the ablation.
If you run a temp with pain and general malaise you should call your
doctor.
Try not to focus on whether it will work or not and try to enjoy being
Amenorrheic (without a period)
