Did you say that you had had it for years? Typically a gyn will follow a benign looking (via transvaginal ultrasound) ovarian cyst for a few cycles and if it hasn't changed they may put you on birth control and see if it resolves itself. If it has been there for years I am surprised that it hasn't been looked at via lap. Virtually all cysts this size and asymptomatic are functional cysts; however they normally resolve themselves in a few months. Call your gyn. Good luck
