BREASTHEALTH: breast pain

I have had right breast pain for the last two and one-half months. It is not focal, but does persist in a generalized area, and never goes away completely. The breast appears normal from outside appearances. I don't know if it's stress from this situation, but my right back-area (around the shoulder blade) aches at times, and I swear I feel it in my lower rt. ribs on occasion. I've had a screening mammogram (was already scheduled for one!) which the radiologist said was "poster-child normal." Because the pain persisted, I requested an ultrasound. That, too, was normal. The radiologist who performed the u/s said I'm fine, and the pain will eventually subside on its own, but I'm not so sure. The pain isn't cyclical. In fact, it began the week following my period. I don't have any definable lumps, but rather I'm very lumpy anyway! Two years ago I did have a rather large lump removed from the left breast. My ob/gyn. said it was probably a fibroadenoma, and it was (with irregular borders), but even that was visible on a mammogram. Nothing showed on this one!

Is there anything else I need to do at this point? I've tried the basic remedies (Evening Primrose Oil, vit. E, vit. B6, no caffeine, and Ibuprofen). The only noticable improvement comes from Ibuprofen. I'm still worried it might be something "hidden." Is pain in one breast, not cyclical, with nothing found on testing, typical? I've read about Mastalgia, but I don't seem to fit the non-cyclical perameters.

Any ideas? I want to make sure my bases are covered and get some peace of mind. Would I have been better off waiting for a diagnostic mammogram? Do I need a breast MRI, or are my other tests sufficient?

Thank you for your time and valuable service.
