If you are wanting to conveive, you need to get off the BCP and see what your cycles do. Many women go on Metformin and sometimes regain their cycles. You do not want to make your PCOS and Insulin resistance worse, and sometiems the BCP can do that. Do you see a Reproductive Endocrinologist ? Many feel they are the best person to manage PCOS, especially if you are seeking a pregnancy. They seem to keep up to date with the laterst trends and recommendations.

Some folks feel the BCP helps to regulate the cycles and therefore make that recommendation. But, it can also sometimes increase the insulin resistance, the thread that is attached to the PCOS. It is the eventual, untreated PCOS that can lead to infertility, not BCP use. But the BCP can contribute by setting up a false sense of security.
