If the issue is the cervix. having that tissue removed usually helps and then follow up paps. I understood that intercourse is painful, and this might also be associated with the vaginal walls, which a hysterectomy wouldn't take care of. The thing about HPV is that there isn't 'treatment' specificaily in situations you are describing, but rather removal. So, if the pain is more along the vaginal walls, you might need to consider other options. I don't advocate a hysterectomy if there are other options that are satisfactory. These are things to discuss with your gyn provider. Hope this helps. CIN II is concerning, and the biposy is much more accurate than the pap smear. That is why they are encouraged.

>>Pat, thank- you for replying. Have been checking every day for a reply. Have already had colposcopy on April 27, took two biopsies interior showing dysplasia CIN II ( had laser surgery in 2003 for dysplasia CIN III) exterior, showing chronic inflammation. Didn't know that dysplasia could affect the vagnia, just "attacked" the cervix. What, do you think, is my best course of treatment, hysterectomy?,decided years ago no more kids. Since 2003 paps have been coming back fine, had yearly pap on April 17, have gotten the results back and is NOT showing any dysplasia, yet the biopsy is showing CIN II.
