CHRONICPAIN: Ovarian cyst removed almost 3 weeks ago and still in severe pain on that side - Could something be wrong?From: Anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 21 May 2007 14:04:21 -0500 (CDT)
The pain is constant and gets worse throughout the day. I take Advil or Aleve during the day to try to deal with the pain because I do not feel comfortable taking the narcotic pain pills when I need to take care of my kids and drive. These do very little to help with the pain. I do take a Percocet at night because at that point the pain is unbearable and even with the Percocet I cannot sleep much because of the discomfort and pain. All my research seems to indicate that by 2 weeks you should be feeling back to normal and after 7 days you should have stopped the pain medication. I can't help but wonder if something is wrong. Also, even though the cyst was removed from the left ovary, I also have mild pain on the right side as well. What could be going on? I have an appointment on Thursday with my doctor and if it is still this bad, I will tell him. I am just worried right now that I am never going to feel better.
