MENORRHAGIA: Sudden heavy bleedingFrom: floating away (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 19 May 2007 09:41:43 -0500 (CDT)
I am 31 years old with 4 kids. I had 3 of them with in a 4 year period. After I had my fourth and final child my first period after his birth was pretty normal and not heavy at all. Then I had a tubal ligation done and ever since my periods have become too much to handle. I can go anywhere from 28 days to 35 days in between. They are extremely heavy causing me to have to use super plus absorbancy tampons and pads with wings at the same time. I can overflow both within 2 to 4 hours. I also have quarter size clots during this time. They last anywhere from 5 to 9 days. I have called my doctor and was told that it was just that hormones needed to get back on track from having my son. Well he is now 15 months old and I am still having the problem. My mother is almost 50 years old and has had her tubes tied for almost 23 years and is on the pill to regulate and reduce her periods because of the same problem. Now I am having pain in my pelvis during sex. I also have it when walking and coughing just to name some other times. The last couple of days it seems to be continuous. Is this something I should be concerned with? Can anyone give me some advice? I would appreciate it.
