PREGNANCY: 5mths pregnant starting Wellbutrin for panic attacks and anxiety. Safe? From: Kate (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 16 May 2007 15:47:05 -0500 (CDT)
My 34 year old friend is in her 5th month of her first but unexpected pregnancy and is too afraid to ask or research anything for herself. She is experiencing panic attacks, anxiety, insomnia, nightmares when she does sleep, and is losing weight. Terrified and convinced the Wellbutrin (300 mg) her doctor started her on a week ago is harming her baby, she is a mess crying constantly and having lots of these panic attacks. Does anyone know of gals who started Wellbutrin in the 2nd trimester and had healthy normal babies? I am up in Canada and need to find her a support group for mentally ill people who are pregnant living in Southern California. She has a psychiatrist and an ob/gyn but I can't seem to find her a reproductive psychiatrist which she really needs. Anyone know of one in Southern California taking new patients? I am worried the stress she is under will do more harm then the meds. Please, please help.
