VAGINALPROBLEM: Itchy, Painful, and Swolen Inner LabiaFrom: Lucy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 12 May 2007 01:55:03 -0500 (CDT)
I've had this problem that started yesterday. I am a virgin, I haven't done anything sexual with another person in about 3 weeks. Anyway, my inner labia have become slightly swollen. This I noticed last night. I was also itchy down there. I have pretty long nails, but I don't remember directly scratching so I'm not entirely positive they caused this. When I noticed the swelling, I checked my vaginal opening and the area around this part was quite noticeably swollen. And today, I've been out of control, like insanely itchy. I've been itching and itching and itching and there is no relief. Itching now is extremely painful because my inner lips are completely raw. I don't think the rawness is completely from me itching though, because it was there before I even started itching hard. It feels very similar to how I feel on the last days of my period if I missed a shower or two. It is the same feeling as this but a lot more intense. I am nervous to try a shower because the rawness is making me think that soap is going to hurt. I've been a lot drier than I normally am there, even aroused I have been very dry. There is a little discharge, but it appears to be the same normal discharge I always have at this point in my menstrual cycle (I'm two weeks since my last period ended). I've been having normal periods since I started having my period, this hasn't changed, I can predict it like clockwork. I could say I'm 97% certain it isn't any sort of STD or STI. My last sexual experience was three weeks ago with a guy who is also 97% certain he doesn't have any sort of STD or STI that caused my problem. So what else could have caused this? My biggest question though is how can I find relief for this? Preferably using products I probably already have or could easily obtain, so not things like Vagisil wipes or something. I just really want to find some relief soon since I am in a lot of discomfort, and I would rather know a better way than just buying wipes or something.
