GENERAL: How long does bleeding typically last after laparoscopic surgery and should I be this emotional?

I had a laparoscopy, D&C, hysteroscopy, ovarian cyst removal, and endometrial ablation last Friday afternoon. I did not seem to have much bleeding for the first few days, very light at first and then spotting, and it seemed to have stopped yesterday morning. Then yesterday evening, I had light bright red bleeding again and some small clots and it continues this morning. Is it normal to start bleeding again 3-1/2 days after surgery? The pamphlet I got from the doctor's office says bleeding with stop in 1-3 days but I'm still bleeding.

I am also very emotional. Today, I ended up crying nonstop because my husband went back to work and I did not want to be left alone. I just feel really sad and depressed. Is this a normal response after surgery? Or, is it possibly a side effect of the pain medication? I was on Vicodin ES for 2 days before it was discontinued due to intolerance and last night I was switched to Darvorcet-N.

My doctor is out of town until Thursday, and it takes all day to get a response from his partner, so I am hoping that someone can help me out. Thanks.
