GENERAL: Laparoscopy - what side effects surprised you or did your doctor not tell you about?From: Michelle (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 2 May 2007 19:20:42 -0500 (CDT)
I am having laparoscopic surgery on Friday, and I was just wondering if anyone had any stories of "things" that happened after surgery that they did not anticipate or that their doctor did not tell them about. For example, I had one person I know tell me that she was very surprised to wake up the next day and find that she was bruised from her chest down to practically her knees. Her doctor had not told her to expect that, so she was worried when she saw the bruising but could not get ahold of her doctor. Fortunately, she knew someone else who had gone through the procedure and assured her it was okay. Is there anything that anyone would like to share that might help me anticipate what to expect? Thanks.
