Kris,

As it has been explained to me the CA-125 is best used to track a woman's progress during treatment for ovarian cancer. It is often used as a screening tool for ovarian cancer, but the results vary widely and is NOT a good indicator of whether ovarian cancer is present. A lot of Dr.s run the test for more of a CYA procedure than a diagnostic procedure.

If you have had one run I would not put much stock in the results unless you are undergoing cancer treatment (I don't believe that is the case, right?)

I had one run as a CYA when I had what US showed as an ovarian cyst, septated, part liquid part solid. It turns out it was my colon covering my ovary held together with adhesions.

Good luck and I hope this helps.
