ENDOMETRIOSIS: PROSTAP with Livial add-back therapy

I have laparoscopically diagnosed endometriosis which has bean heat treated (26.03.07). Historically I have suffered very painful and heavy periods that can be in excess of 8 days in length (10 years). This can prove to be very debilitating. In addition I suffer extreme PMS that brings tearfulness, sore breasts, mood changes and extreme fatigue (amongst other symptoms). In addition I have had small fibroids diagnosed.

I have been offered a medical menopause with the administration of PROSTAP with add-back therapy with Livial (3 months duration). If this proves successful at significantly reducing my symptoms a complete hysterectomy will be offered. In the main all the patient reviews I have read off the internet tend to illuminate all the negatives with PROSTAP therapy and that it can induce all the symptoms that I am trying to eradicate with the added inconvenience of potential weight gain and hair loss.

Do you know of any research that could assist in informing any decisions I make?

I am a 43 year old white British female and have not had a full term pregnancy. I have a stressful job which I try to balance with a relaxing home life. Any advice, information or reflective personel experinces will be very much appriciated.

Warm Regards
