PREGNANCY: Echogenic FociFrom: p3g1 (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 30 Apr 2007 12:46:25 -0500 (CDT)
At my 23 week u/s, the baby was found to have echogenic cardiac foci. I am returning for a level II u/s at 25 weeks to further investigate. My question is if the EIF is not apparent on the level II, with what amount of certainty can it be assumed the baby does not have a chromosomal abnormality? There were no other markers apparent at 23 wks, but my husband does have a cousin with T21. I am 32. I am already high risk with a cerclage and a 10cm adnexal mass and am trying to weigh the risk of amnio with all considered. Thank you.
