Yes you still transmit the virus to any and all partners with whom you have unprotected sex.

Ask your Dr. about doing a high risk HPV test with your next pap. It is very important that you have yearly pap smears. This virus is always with you although often times has no symptoms.

There is currently a vaccine that protects girls from several high risk, cancer and wart causing strains of the virus. It is recommended that all girls ages 9-25 receive the 3 dose vaccine. The vaccine must be given before any exposure to the virus.
