ENDOMETRIOSIS: 8 UTI'S IN 15 MONTHS COULD THIS BE RELATED TO MY ENDOMETRIOSISFrom: Sick and Tired of being Sick and Tired (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 16 Apr 2007 18:19:45 -0500 (CDT)
I am so frustrated. I am 28 years old, when I was 17 I was diagnosed with endometriosis-there was one small spot on my left ligament. 5 years later in 2002 I had my second lap-scope-during this scope my doctor said he found a significant amount that he cauterized. We did the lupron injections for 6 months, I went on birth control for 6 months and 3 weeks after going off the pill became pregnant-then I breast fed-so didn't have a period until a year after my son was born. I think my doctor feels it is gone and never coming back. The last 15 months I have had 8 UTI's prior to this I have had 2 in my whole life. My doctor doesn't feel this is to much to be concerned about-he puts me on an antibiotic and does a culture and it is one of various bacterias-pnemonia- &-e-coli mostly. He tells me I should use baby wipes, that this could be caused from my recent pregnancy (my son is almost 3-gravity, and possibly stress. He was very sensitive and a great obgyn when I had my surgery 5 years ago-I just feel like he/and everyone else thinks that I am doing this to myself. Trust me the pain I experience when the UTI's sit in my kidneys for a day or 2 or having IV antibiotics-they are not appealing. Am I crazy to ask for another scope? Is it even possible & if it is possible could you either explain it to me, or tell me how to talk to my doctor-I do not want to make him feel uncomfortabe-like he's not doing his job, at the same time I have 2 small children, and I can only give them so much when I have the chills, 103 temp, and flank pain totalling 3 full months of the last 15 months. My husband is ready to divorce me-because I am a hypocondriact (sorry for the spelling) and because I am super grumpy when I am in pain and still trying to do day to day activities. I appreciate any help you can give me. Thank You!!! April
