I am 5'4'' 123 lbs after weight gain from 108 diagnosed with hypothalamic amenorrhea. After I had my son, I have always been able to express droplets of breastmilk. I had my prolactin level checked in August (after I already had hypoestrogenism and amenorrhea) and it came back as 4.1. Recently, after weight gain, I have been able to express a lot more breast milk (to the point where it can spray a little bit on occasion). My endocrinologist didn't think I needed another prolactin level since it was normal with full on amenorrhea in Aug 06. Could this have been the cause of amenorrhea all along? Should I be concerned about this with a normal prolactin level? Thanks.
