GENERAL: Ovulation PainFrom: Tee (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 4 Apr 2007 18:21:40 -0500 (CDT)
Good Evening This is my first visit but I wanted to see if maybe a professional had advice or if someone has had similar experiences I am a 33 year old woman. Not currently sexually active. I've been taking birth control pills since I was around 17. No abortions, have never been pregnant. So sometime in 2005 I started to feel myself ovulate. Or so I've been lead to believe. At first, I was confused, I thought the whole point of being on bc pills was so that you wouldn't ovulate. But like clockwork, I would feel these PMS-like symptoms 1-2 weeks before my period was due Now I have to say that I don't experience this every month, it does skip around but when its there, its REALLY THERE! I have been to the doctor countless times, and I've always been told the same thing; there's nothing wrong, your pap was normal, etc etc Needless to say, I'm very confused. I have read about ovulation pain & things like that but what I have read scared me It would say that it shouldnt last more than 2-3 days, but mine has lasted longer It isnt consistant discomfort...it can last for maybe 15 minutes & then I'll be ok for the next 5 hours until it starts again or anything in between A part of me wouldn't have such a problem with it if Advil &/or Aleve &/or ANYTHING lol would take the pain away but it rarely ever does Its one thing to be going through this while in the comfort of your own home, its quite another when you're at work, in a meeting & your lowerback is aching (I have a tilted uterus to boot) and you just wanna curl up into a fetal position I'm hoping that somebody can point me in the right direction. I have my annual OB/GYN visit coming up in May but until then...can someone tell me something...this is really getting on my nerves. Thanx everyone
