Re: GENERAL: Can iron supplements cause you to lose your appetite? From: barbara nesbitt, Editor OBGYN.net (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 4 Apr 2007 14:02:18 -0500 (CDT)
Dear MGD, I have done a search and this is the list I came up with and Loss Of Appitate is not one of them. I suggest you ask your physician what's going on Constipation, diarrhea, or upset stomach may occur. These effects are usually temporary and may disappear as your body adjusts to this medication. If any of these effects persist or worsen, contact your doctor or pharmacist promptly. Iron may cause your stools to turn black, which is not harmful. Remember that your doctor has prescribed this medication because he or she has judged that the benefit to you is greater than the risk of side effects. Many people using this medication do not have serious side effects. An allergic reaction to this drug is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing.
If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or
pharmacist.
