Re: MENOPAUSE: FSH test and bcpsFrom: Pat Sonnenstuhl (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 31 Mar 2007 22:43:55 -0500 (CDT)
Okay, that makes a difference. YOu probably aren't in menopause, but rather Perimenopause, the 10 years before official menopause. Hot flashes can start then along with some of the other things you are talking about. Cycles also bet very eratic. If you are on the bcps that will stop your periods. A great book for Perimenopase is Before the Change by Ann Louise Gittleman http://home.comcast.net/~cnmpat/bkrevchg.htm http://www.midwivesofwa.org/perizap.pdf She has a lot of ideas about some of these irritating things, and good nutritional guidance for getting things back into balance. You might consider a FSH, or stopping the pills, but if they are helping your endometriosis, perhaps you should remain on them until you really are into full fledged menopause. I am not convinced the FSH will absolutly tell you whether or not your are officially in menopause. What's wrong with continuing them for awhile longer, and working on the other things that might improve the hot flahes, etc.
