MENORRHAGIA: Constant Menstruation Help!?From: Sara311 (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 31 Mar 2007 09:25:15 -0500 (CDT)
I've had a problem since I was 15-16 years old with my period. (I am 22 now) I have a constant period. I would have a constant bleeding for up to 7 months then I would not have my period for up to 6 months. But in the last 16 months I have had a mostly constant period. It goes from extremely heavy (to the point I cannot leave my house) to very light. I sometimes have extreme cramping. (though this only happens about once every 3 months) I don't know if this has anything to do with it but I have also had heavy depression and anxiety. I've had this problem since I was young. I have a very hard time sleeping. I was raped at age 15. My period stopped for 3 months I thought I was pregnant but then it came back with EXTREME cramping. I have never had intercourse otherwise. I have an extreme fear of going to the gyno because no one has seen me naked since the rape. I have never been on birth control. I have a weight problem that seems no matter what I do (I eat healthy and exercise regularly) I have stayed the same weight. I am 297 pounds, and 5'9". I also seem to have (in my opinion) more body hair than most women. I have seriously considered getting a hysterectomy. I doubt I will ever be able have children. I think that it is my hormones but I just don't know. Any advice would be very appreciated!
