I had three endo surgeries a few years back. By all means avoid a laparotomy if you can. They are painful. How big is the tumor? I had to have a laparo because my endo cysts were large 7.5 cm and because i didn't know they were from endo - they wanted to check for cancer too. I've also had a couple of scopes and these are much easier to recover from. Not all doctors will atempt to remove the endo implants. My first surgeon was probably overwhelmed by them as she just normally delivered babies, etc. I went to a specialist who recommended the additional surgeries because the endo had not been removed and the cysts were merely drained; the lining wasn't removed so they were growing again. It may do no good to remove the adhesions as they often just come right back! Overal, do not panic about this tumor unless it's causing you severe pain. Find the right doctor - one who excises endo and he can surely take care of the rest of your problems!
