GYNECOLOGIC: Painful sex after childbirthFrom: MN (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 15 Mar 2007 00:05:46 -0500 (CDT)
I am looking for some advice. With my first childbirth I had an episiotomy. With no complications at all. With my second child I didn't get an episiotomy and I tore. That resident perfomed that massage that they talk about. It's been three years and I've tried lubercations, laying off the kegals, and I still tear in the same spot. It is totally seperate from where my episiotomy was performed from the first delivery. Now due to have another delivery, I don't know if I need to write a birthing plan to let the doctors know I want that episiotomy. I'm terrified! I now read that doctors are opting from doing this cut. How can I be my own advocate? With both of my other births it was a hospital on-call doctor that did the delivery, so my wishes that were conveyed to the doctor that treated me during pregnancy went out the window. (I deliver fast) Any suggestions? Thanks in Advance, MN
